Hey who doesn't think a sure fire number 1 pick falling is your lap is a good thing. I mean the Pistons were gifted by the Basketball overlords or maybe they just got lucky who knows but Cade Cunningham has showed he can be a top Guard in the league. With the way he took the team by storm last season and cemented the scouts ratings. But, here is the part that really matters that season doesn't matter at all. The Pistons weren't winning anything they weren't even in the playoff talk they made it clear they were going to take their sweet time. But that wasn't the headline coming into this year now was it? This team had a lot of hype deservedly so and they were primed to have a huge year compared too the last few.  Yet here we are almost on too december and its already mock draft season. No one likes bills especially when they are due on Thanksgiving, I mean come on how could you like that. Alright, alright ill stop it wasn't that punny anyway. With plenty of talent in the passing attacks and ball hawking safeties to go a round this seems like a matchup that will surely leave a bruise.  My oh my did we all have higher expectations for this Pistons team or what!? Go on tell about how they should be winning more!!! But no, they are not playing well straight up they are just not in sync. Casey continues his same rotation with 1s and 2s even though it doesn't really work and continues to not go with the hot hand. They have never really held a lead and have been down by 10 in every  game this season at some point. I will give them one thing that starting 5 can straight score and has given them a chance too win most of their games thus far.  Can I just start with saying man winning feels good. It is something that A Red Wings fan should be used after all its one of the most storied franchises in hockey. Though things just haven't seemed to go that way under Coach Blashill it was always a winning culture in hockeytown. You saw a lot of folks casually writing them off before the holidays even hit season after season after he took over. Now it looks as though those times are long gone and we have a head coach in Derek Lalonde that wants to win all the time. So the Yzerplan seems too be taking off providing some early wins. Everybody loves wins! This got me thinking, not only about how far this team could go in the near future, but how they are really built to win now. I could throw a boatload of stats showing how despite a few down years are still one of the highest winning teams ever and hold leads against just about every team out there.  There is a lot too like about Killian Hayes but its just not happening. So why just why do we keep believing in this kid? The process of his game has never been there, and probably never will be. This is like trying to fix a car that doesn't have a motor and you just keep pouring everything into but dang it just wont start. Did anyone take the time to check under the hood or no, I seriously question this. Why would a team that has always had a knack for finding great guards waste their time on a french development project? It never made sense be honest you never said, oh man killian Hayes is it he gone be that dude. Nope nobody said that ever, unless it was some bot account he made to give himself some faith.  Well there is a lot too unpack here from the trade deadline. All the talk is focused on Hock, rightfully so with such a big move with what was perceived as a core player for years too come. The price tag associated just wasn't worth it for Brad Holmes. So what about now? All fingers are pointing to a historically bad defense that isn't really improving. So how could that happen? Looking past the trade deadline there is  maybe hope for a free agent add-on? That doest seem likely though with the Holmes track record. Jerry Jacobs and Josh Paschal have made there debuts. With Paschals pushing out a known vet on Michael Brockers, not speculating on his future right now with what Campbell has said. But, there is one more piece still lurking in the dark, Romeo Okwara. This raises a lot of red flags for me and questions on his future as well. Is he just simply not ready too return?  Today was a lot for a lot for a lot of us, but one thing is for sure Hockenson will no longer be a lion. A lot to digest with this move and not everyone seems to be a fan. Well I sure am I love this deal, did not want it hurts pains me I threw up in my mouth a bit. But hey its done and we all have to live with it. There are so many reason too hate this trade but I don't just don't. I think it is a great deal and can significantly benefit this team in the long run. Lets start with the obvious a big pay day that he is surely due in the next year who is forking that bill? Because its sure to be a hefty one. No, top TE is making less then 10 Mill per year.
