Hockenson Trade Grade

 Today was a lot for a lot for a lot of us, but one thing is for sure Hockenson will no longer be a lion. A lot to digest with this move and not everyone seems to be a fan. Well I sure am I love this deal, did not want it hurts pains me I threw up in my mouth a bit. But hey its done and we all have to live with it. There are so many reason too hate this trade but I don't just don't. I think it is a great deal and can significantly benefit this team in the long run. Lets start with the obvious a big pay day that he is surely due in the next year who is forking that bill? Because its sure to be a hefty one. No, top TE is making less then 10 Mill per year. No way no how he accepts a contract with less then top ten money I will fight you with one ass cheek on that! So that brings up the question is Minnesota going to pay him that? I don't see it right now they have got to lock down Cook, Thielen, Jefferson, Cousins is hefty, and the Smiths on the other side wow there goes your cap space. So this looks like a one to two year rental.. With two solid high round picks coming back and a couple budding TE's on the roster now this is a win-win.

So here me out you Hock fans lets just say the lions did want to pay him, the Viking brass will have to make a major move to have room. So chances are he is a free agent next year and boom the lions pick him right back up potentially and get two Holmes guys on there roster while giving the guys behind him crucial development. potentially jumpstarted them towards the playoffs in 2024, "potentially". So now lets they they don't do that and you still get the picks you get the development and now you have all the cap space you need to resign St Brown or Sewell, Rodriguez, one of the now core guys in a few years. Plus did I mention DRAFT PICKS we can scoop up 4-5 solid solid players in those top 70 players coming out this spring so while I get it this is pain right now but so was the last few Sundays. We have to trust the Holmsey here and with how most of his picks have gone so far I'm doing just that!

 My oh my did we all have higher expectations for this Pistons team or what!? Go on tell about how they should be winning more!!! But no, they are not playing well straight up they are just not in sync. Casey continues his same rotation with 1s and 2s even though it doesn't really work and continues to not go with the hot hand.
