Where Art Thou Romeo? Okwara

Well there is a lot too unpack here from the trade deadline. All the talk is focused on Hock, rightfully so with such a big move with what was perceived as a core player for years too come. The price tag associated just wasn't worth it for Brad Holmes. So what about now? All fingers are pointing to a historically bad defense that isn't really improving. So how could that happen?

Looking past the trade deadline there is  maybe hope for a free agent add-on? That doest seem likely though with the Holmes track record. Jerry Jacobs and Josh Paschal have made there debuts. With Paschals pushing out a known vet on Michael Brockers, not speculating on his future right now with what Campbell has said. But, there is one more piece still lurking in the dark, Romeo Okwara.

This raises a lot of red flags for me and questions on his future as well. Is he just simply not ready too return? Well that doesn't seem likely looking at typically 9 month recover times for an achilles injury. There has been virtually no updates from the Lions anywhere on his progress. So is he even close? Is he being held back? Is he not apart of the future here? His brother Julian is showing some promise and seems to be a solid play week in and out. So that's would lead most to believe he should be a part of this team, unlike others. We just saw today Superback Jason Cabinda get his window activated. So it begs the question where art thou Romeo?

Why would a team struggling so bad to stop the run and get pressures not want a guy like that back asap? It just doesn't add up, especially with the trade deadline passing and not a word on him. Not a lot of talk at all anywhere on his status. Is he simply just lost in the wind being allowed to collect his pay and take his sweet time back to a rebuilding team? Because that is quite a hefty contract he received just a few years back. There is just so many questions here and not really answers from the Lions. So where art thou Romeo?
